The weather of North-East India is sub-tropical monsoon climate, characterized by hot & humid summers, and cool & dry winters. The region passes through bimonthly seasonal changes, which are apparent in visual changes in the landscape.

The season may be classified as:-

•  Pre-monsoon (April - May)

•  Monsoon (June - mid August)

•  Post-monsoon (August - September)

•  Winter (October - March)

The region gets high rainfall, mostly during June, July and August with an annual average of 2000mm.

Temperatures varies from place to place within the region, in the hills it's cold throughout the year, whereas the Brahmaputra Valley fluctuates highly as per seasonal balances, temperatures can soar upto 35°C during summers with high humidity and can be low as below 7°C during winters
